Your online accounts after your death

This service announced its shutdown on October 22, 2015

Most of the Internet users are having many sociable accounts like twitter, facebook & etc., Have you ever wondered who is going to delete or deactivate these accounts after your death? I have often thought what will happen to my accounts if I suddenly die. Then I found two solutions to that problem. Now, I’m going to introduce a website which gives you information insurance.

Deathswitch is an automated system that prompts you for your password on a regular schedule to make sure you are still alive. When you don’t enter your password for some period of time, the system deduces you are dead, and your passwords or messages are automatically e-mailed to the second-in-command. You can use this service not only for sending passwords, other matters also like “It appears I’m dead now,” the e-mails began. “I’ll take this as an opportunity to tell you things I’ve always wanted to express…”. Individuals began to use deathswitch to reveal Swiss bank account numbers or financial advice to their heirs, to get the last word in an argument, final wishes, funeral instructions and to confess secrets that were unspeakable during a lifetime.

For more information please visit deathswitch

Last but not least keep a Last Will, leaving instructions about how to delete your online profiles and accounts would be the most cost effective way to handle it. These are the options to utilize now itself, remember you cannot do these after your death. So, think wisely and do it right now. Requiescat in Pace.
